DVR recordings not showing on Xfinity TV app

Hello Chad,

 

I have the X1 platform and downloaded the Xfinity TV app to my tablet and it works great for streaming live TV.  However, in both apps none of our recordings are showing.  I dont even see an option for recorded shows.  I've logged in and out of the apps and restarted the tablets but that hasn't helped.  A friend of mine mentioned he had the same issue and it was resolved by updating some codes.....

 

Is there something else that I need to do?

Hello Auciello1212,

 

I corrected the coding on your account for the cloud DVR which allows users to  record TV shows and movies in "the cloud," then stream those recordings to their mobile devices and computers or download recordings to a mobile device while connected to any WiFi or mobile network. To watch recorded programs saved to your DVR, navigate to the main menu, and tap the Recordings tab.Can you check and see if the recorded tab  is available to you now?

There is no "Xfinity TV to go app", only Xfinity TV GO and Xfinity TV app.  Only the Xfinity TV app can access your Cloud DVR recordings.  You need to ensure you are using the correct app.

I am having the same issues as everyone else. I have X1...the DVR...and currently using the Xfinity App on my pc and tablet. I can see everything BUT....my dvr recordings arent visbile. I'm in the Twin Cities....and we have the cloud based technology ability. I was told there is a code that needs to be added to the account. Please advise and assist.

AFAIK, Cloud is not available in the Twin Cities market yet.

 

X1 DVR with Cloud Technology is available in all markets where X1 service is available except for the following:

  • Michigan, including the Detroit Metro Area
  • Minneapolis and St. Paul, MN
  • Independence, MO

Did you call into Comcast and have the Cloud Rate Code added to your account?  Once this is done, only recordings made AFTER the rate code has been added will be available in the App...

If you live in an aea whee Cloud is available, you must call into Comcast and have the Cloud Rate Code added to your account.  And FWIW, you must use the Xfinity TV App, not the Xfinity TV Go App to access Cloud Recordings...

When I would go on comcast online tv on my laptop so I can watch tv while I clean my kitchen and laundry rm. I love to watch my dvr recordings. There would be a pop up and it would say try it now or not now! I liked it so much better than this tv go site, I can't watch any of my recordings only on demand. Thank You so much Chad for helping me w/ my problems! I hope it'll come on sooner!

Call into Comcast BILLING @ 1-800-266-2278 or 1-800-934-6489 and ask that the Cloud Rate Code be added to your account.  Once that is completed, you will need to accept the Terms & Conditions on your home DVR and at that point only recordings made AFTER the rate code was added will be available on the APP.  Existing DVR recordings are not populated into the Cloud.

Hello,

I am seeing "You have no completed recordings yet" in my iPhone Xfinity TV app. It has previously worked and showed me my recordings. I know I recorded a show last night and it is on my DVR. The My Account app says there is a TV network outage in my area, but everything was working fine in my home aside from the app not displaying recordings or scheduled recordings. Please advise. This system is great when it works.

I logged out of the app, deleted it and reinstalled it. Was prompted to accept terms and condiitons again when I logged in again, which I wasn't when I just logged out and back in. The deleting of the app must be a key step to clear things as now I see my scheduled recordings (I didn't before) but I can't see the show that was recorded the other night. Hoping that newly recorded shows will be seen.

I am having the same issue on my iOS app in Colorado Springs. The Saved tab shows two shows I watched but there is no "Recordings" tab. I have a dozen recordings on my DVR that should show up there.

My current recordings are not showing up in the cloud. Right now I am only seeing recordings that I have already watched. I use to have this feature and it workd fine. I live in Boston, MA. can you please assist?

All of a sudden, new recordings have stopped showing up. My dvr is 49% full but the Xfinity TV app only shows 14% and doesn't show recent recordings. How can this be fixed?   Thank you!

 

PS I live in Philadelphia, if that is relevant.

Some people have had success using the Sync DVR option in Settings.

I'm having similar problems as other people. Half the recordings on the DVR don't show up at all in the recordings on the app. I've even got recordings on the app that have long since been deleted from the DVR. All I see is the same basic response over and over again... We'll contact "support experts" and the problem will get fixed. That's fantastic. Truly it is, but I've had this problem fixed no less than 3 seperate times. If I have (as an example) 25 recordings of a certain show on the DVR and the app tells me I have 5 recordings, what should I do? Contact someone via a forum and hope and pray the problem gets resolved? And when it does get resolved, do I then resort to hoping and praying AGAIN that the problem doesn't rear it's ugly head once more? And how much frustration is enough when it DOES come back again? One more time and then it's fixed forever... Sure, I can handle that. This, however, will be the FOURTH time this problem has come up. Is there any way to get a PERMANANT solution to this problem. I'd really, really, really love it if my DVR and my Xfinity TV app could be in sync and STAY in sync. I really like Comcast and love the app features and all, but my frustration is begining to make me question why I stay with Comcast at all.

I'm in Houston and I checked my iPad4 and my Saved Recordings are the same as my DVR.

 

I used the Xfinity TV app.

Just to be sure, what device are you using - iPad, iPhone, Android?  Are you logging in with your default comcast.net userid/password?

I am using an IPad. And I am using my normal Comcast login and password. I'm able to stream live. I just don't have the extra menu tab to see my Dvr recordings.

I am using the Xfinity TV app on my iPad4 connected to my Comcast wifi and I have an option to select Saved>Recordings and I am able to select any recorded show.

 

Sounds like there is something you are missing.  You aren't using the Xfinity TV Go app are you?

Have you called in to have the Cloud DVR rate code added to your account? It is not an automatic thing. No rate code, no DVR recordings on the app.

Same issue here in New Jersey. 69% on DVR vs 12% on xfinity tv app, many shows missing from the list on the app.

DId you call into Comcast   Billing and have the Cloud Rate Code added to your account ?

From the time the rate code is added, that is when any NEW recordings will be available....existing recordings will not be available in the APP.

Hey Comcast Chad - Im in a unique situation. I am a west division employee who lives in Colorado temporarily at my sister's house. I am trying to watch my DVR recordings from my house that resides in Northeast Division. a good 3/4 of the recordings are not showing up on the app. Here's the problem I can't access courtesy services from here and my wife can't call in for it becuase she's not the employee.

 

Can you help me out here?

I am having the same problem. ..I have no dvr tab on my app.. I can watch my purchases..but no dvr recordings! Been trying to get this fixed for months..no one can help me whenever I call...very frustrating

So I just downloaded the app and am still seeing this issue. Not all of the recordings on my box are showing in the iPad app. You put this messge on over 2 years ago. Are they still working on upgrading the infrastructure? When will this work properly?

There are two reasons you may not see "all" your recordings on the xfinity tv app. First, only recording made after adding cloud storage to your account will be seen. Second, the cloud storage is smaller then your dvr storage, so as your cloud storage gets full, the oldest recording will be deleted to make room for a new one but will remain on your dvr until it needs to delete the oldest recording to make room.

There is not a place in my dropdown on my iPad app to watch programs recorded on my dvr. How do I watch them?  My zip code is 49315.

Call into Comcast BILLING @ 1-800-266-2278 or 1-800-934-6489 and ask that the Cloud Rate Code be added to your account.  Once that is completed, you will need to accept the Terms & Conditions on your home DVR and at that point only recordings made AFTER the rate code was added will be available on the APP.  Existing DVR recordings are not populated into the Cloud.


Thanks for posting. I called and it worked.  Hard to believe Comcast doesn't tell you this.
