How can I view a channel listing alphabetically by the channel name rather than only the channel number?  Thanks!

Unfortunately, that is not currently a supported option in the on-screen guide.

Thanks for your reply. Is there anyway to alphabetize the channels on the website?

Not sure. Moving your post to the XFINITY TV Online Help area where someone knowledgeable in that area can better respond.

I am sorry but this feature is not available online either.

Our product team is constantly working on improving the site to make the best experience possible. Thanks for your suggestion; we'll consider your idea for a future release.

What kind of a marketing strategy opted out of making an alphabetical printed list available.  It would be a logical service.

Hi Joe. It was over a year ago when someone asked why your company does not list the channels alphabetically rather than by number. LIsting by numbers is how the cable company uses it., Listing by name is how a viewer would use it. Have you made any progress with it? The way you list channels now, someone has to go through every line in over nine pages to find a listing. If it were alphabetical, we could go directly to it. Your way is  like creating a dictionary with the words listed according to their last letter.

thanks, looking forward to a response.

On 12/22/2011 I printed an alphabetical channel listing!!!  Why is it no longer available???  Is this progress??  When you sort now you only get the listing in reverse order.  The channel name used to be a sort field and the number field was separate.  Change it back - tell your programmers that sorts are not difficult to accomplish.

Address was www.comcast.com/customers/clu/channellineup.ashx?SCRedirect=true

VERY poor customer service not to provide a listing of XFINITY TV Channels in alphabetical order! WHY?  Create the database once and then just add new additions to it as they become available.

I put up a list at hereandthere.org/comcast-channels. I included a .doc version so you can edit and sort it.

hereandthere,

Bless Thee, my son and thanks a million for your Wash. DC Comcast list. I have spent 4 hours already and am on the last page and 1/2 of 7 pages of the list for my area. Without your help, I would never have been able to set the list up alphabetically without a horrifying amount of wasted time. With the millions of customers they have, and at roughly 5 hours per pop...well, you can see what a waste this is, though they can't.

I have gone back and find that this problem has been around a long time.  There is no excuse for such total lack of consideration for Comcast's customers. I left several years ago because they didn't have the channels we needed. I just recently checked and found that they did have most of them, so we're back.

Now I find that they haven't made the simple change in their program to permit us to list alphabetically. With some 265+ channels, it is unconscionable not to have this simple option available.

Again...Thank you!

Joe

Please note the date of the attached msg. Then read the msg. Apparently, one of two answers applies...The product team is unable to make such a simple modification...or...no one cares.

It is super annoying, expecially since you can sort the channels alphabetically, but not print them that way! Had to make a very basic one with excel, but what a waste of time (but still better than wasting time every time when you look for a channel - what are these guys thinking how you watch tv?)

If you use Chrome, you might appreciate my extension.  It allows you to hide channels you don't watch and lets you create custom filters.  It doesn't sort alphabetically though.

On the Comcast Channel Lineup page (http://www.xfinity.com/customers/clu/channellineup.ashx?clu=360#) there is an option to SORT ALPHABETICALLY, but when I clicked on "Print a Full List," it still laid it out NUMERICALLY. Why give the customer the alphabetical lineup if he can't print it? It's just a spreadsheet project that I shouldn't have to do on my own.

Comcast, Please LISTEN to your customers' request! I was excited to see the SORT ALPHABETICALLY, only to find the print list was still NUMERICALLY! If you don't have time to correct this, please recruit an intern to assist you.

Where did you find the "sort alphabetically"? One would think this was rocket science with Comcast's inability to provide a simple alphabetized channel list.
