I just got forced to reactivate my HBO Go on my Xbox 360. When I went to activate it, I was brought to the Xfinity site instead of being asked to input my code. There was a button for me to add Hbo now, which is weird, since I have it. I clicked the button, and it said it was checking the price. But once it found my account, it just sent me directly to HBO's page, and had some message that basically said that I already had HBO. So on the HBO Go website, I went to play something to see if it worked, and it routed me back to the same page at Xfinity that asked me if I wanted to add HBO.
Has anyone had this happen before and/or does anyone know how to fix this?
This just randomly happened to me as well. I can typically just go to HBOGO . com and sign into xfinity. Now when I click go to sign in, it takes me to xfinity site where there is no option to use HBOGO.
I have had this problem multiple times and currently have it again. The first time I solved it involved me using Xfinity support chat and having them refresh my UDB data. I just tried this again and I don't think that the chat tech understood me so now I have to wait for a call back from advanced support. I had a tech out last week to fix something and he resolved the issue on their end only to have it fail again a week later. I am very frustrated. I just want the service I pay a lot for to work.
I just talked with Comcast rep and they said they dont support HBO Go anymore. They only support streaming HBO through their own xfinity streaming app now and through the website. Typical comcast garbage tactics to artificially support their failing business model and inflated prices.
As I have wrote in other similar topics, there are several things that can cause this issue.
A refresh of the system might be needed to make sure the email has the right authorization. This is the UDB refresh that Kingdoxx referred to, and I was able to see that there wasn't one sent out for you and I apologize for that.
The other reason that can cause this problem is either a user name problem with the email that is attached to the account. This usually can happen if you have multiple accounts, just recently transfer or canceled service at one location and started service in a different state. When this happens we just have to make sure that the user name that you are using is the correct one that is attached to the account that has hbo.
If anyone here is still having any issues with this let me know and I will try to fix it myself or point to the right direction in getting this resolved. I did an overall check and it seems like everyone reporting the problem here is because of a different reason.
Has anyone found a solution to this issue? I've tried and tried. Got it to work somehow, and now its deactivated again. This is ridiculous for what we pay every month it SHOULD NOT be this hard!
I get the same thing. I select my ps3 to activate and it takes me to my account with no option to activate a device. Please send the refresh so I can activate.
I have the same problem: sign in to HBO GO and get directed to page asking me to add it as a new service, as shown in the screenshot in some other victim's message. 45 minutes on the phone with Comcast, rep says Comcast bill does not show subscription (have had for a year, bill automatically paid every month) and gives me a number to call HBO.
Having the same issue. Called tech support and was told that xfinity has no way to fix this. ComcastFrancisc, is there any way you can look into fixing mine???
I don't even kow if that is the issue. I am trying to watch it through the streaming site, and it still won't let me. Their site is broken, and since they have no REAL competiton, they have 0 incentive to fix it.
I've had the same issue recurring since last October and had to call into custer support probably 10 times.
If there is a Comcast rep reading this then I'd sure like to have this work.
For me - when HBO does not let me log in/stream via ANY app, my OnDemand also does not have any functionality.
I've tried using multiple web browsers, clearning cache/history/etc in all of them, reloading app on smart tv, deleting and reloading both comcast and HBO go app on multiple iPads and phones, creating a new user on my account, trying to log in with multiple usernames, changing my password.
Does anyone know a permanenet solution other than just using another provider?
Hi all - I spoke with the specialists at Xfinity Tech Support, and had all the same issues that are discussed on this forum. They had to do some type of resets on their backend (after a ticket was submited) but was able to figure out that once they reset, I can stream it through "Xfinity Stream" app, the HBO Go app is not working.
Yes! I've had this problem for months. Comcast has no idea how to fix it. It's like they've never even heard of this issue when obviously we are all having thew same prob I've had two techs come out and neither of them had a clue!
Comcast is the absolute worst!
According to a comcast rep, hbo go is no longer available
According to a comcast rep, hbo go is no longer available
ComcastFrancisc , can you confirm whether what this other Comcast rep is saying is correct, or whether its just a convenient "blow off" answer when he/she didn't know how to fix it? TIA.

I FOUND A SOLUTION!!!
this only applies to Apple users, but I assume it can work for androids. The problem is the safari browser and the mobile version of HBOGO website. I have had the same frustrating issue when signing in on HBO go, then signing in to my Comcast account, and does not take me to a page to enter in the pin to activate my HBO go on my Roku. In fact it was saying that I did not have hbo, which I know I do. After hours of this problem, I finally tried a different browser on my iPhone. I used puffin, a free app that lets you surf the web with a DESKTOP version of websites, not MOBILE. That is the key. I used puffin, but it might also work with Firefox, chrome, etc, but not safari. After downloading puffin, they ask if you would like to use desktop or mobile web surfing, I chose desktop, went to the HBOGO website, signed in to my xfinity account (which did not take my away from the hbo website), then BOOOOOOOOM, I FINALLY got the prompt to enter in my pin to active it on my Roku!!!! I have included a picture to show it works. I really hope this helps you all. This was incredibly frustrating and I feel your pain. Let me know if it works!!
