Caller ID and Message (phone) Never Worked Since Day 1

I had X1 Platform installed in teh Living Room about 3 weeks ago and the one in the Bedroom installed 1 1/2 weeks ago and it has never worked (living room) since day one no matter what, who, why and when I tried to have this fixed.  No one seems to know what to do but auto-withdraw my cable payment...they do that just fine.  Can anyone here please help me with this...I will be forever grateful.

Check in preferences in the menu and see if caller ID notifications are on
