that is why amazon practically gave away the last of fire device inventory. the current tech supported is either apple or iphone. we've heard that windows mobile devices might have access to the apps next. I'm guessing you already tried accessing via web browswer on the device http://xtv.comcast.net  ?

Re: Amazon Fire

Comcast Ashley, the issue is not only the NCAA Basketball Tournament , the issue is that the Xfinity TV app is not available to any of the X1 customers who have an Amazon Fire tablet! According to the X1 group it is not compatible at this time! It would be nice to know if it ever will be in the future!

Re: Amazon Fire

amazon thought they could break into the apple/android sphere but it didn't work out so basically amazon has sold off its inventory and now we must wait to see if they abandon it completely.

Re: Amazon Fire

We don't have anything currently setup to be available on Amazon Fire. This is something we continue to assess.

Re: Amazon Fire

If you see a demand for it, what is there to "assess"?

Re: Amazon Fire

You can use XFinity apps on your Fire. I've done it both on a 7hdx and a Fire 8, but you must be willing to get the apps from someplace other than the Amazon store. To do it, follow these steps:

1. In your tablet settings under Security, check the box that lets you download apps from non-Amazon sites. (Your tablet will whine about this.)

2. You need to connect to an app website that won't complain about your fire. I use 1mobile.com. Install the 1mobile app. Then through 1mobile, you can get and install the Xfinity TV and the Xfinity Connect apps.(Plus the remote app and the TV Go app, which you won't need if you have X1 and the TV app.)

The TV app runs on my Fire with no problems (but see note below). The Connect app is nice if you have Xfinity phone, but 2 things won't work on it for me. I can't text (I get an error message about location services and 911), and I cannot get video calling to work. Otherwise, I can call out and receive calls via my home phone, and I can hear my phone messages.

I can't get the other XFinity apps to run because they require Google Play services, and I could not get the Play services to work.

TV App note: I recently got X1 for me and then later for my friend. In both cases I had to contact Comcast to enable X1 DVR with cloud services -- once even when a Comcast technician set it up. If you don't have the dvr with cloud service, you won't be able to manage/view your X1 DVR, but you can still see tv go and on demand.

Re: Amazon Fire

I misread your original message and thought you were talking about an Amazon Fire tablet. My answer applies to the tablet. I don't have Fire TV or the stick, so I can answer your question.

Re: Amazon Fire

Thanks for the thought. I am always hopefull that someone has figured a way.

But there is hope, I read a story today (no I do not remember where) that

xfinity has an app for Roku that eliminates the cable box.

So MAYBE Amazon fire will be soon ?????????

Yes I am an optimist.

Re: Amazon Fire

Then take it off your Xfinity Tv app page where it lists several Fire products as compatible.  No issues with Xfinity on Demand, until you "upgraded" it.  Now can't and won't be able to use the app with my Fire tablet.  Not happy.
