3 devices cannot delete device error.

New Poster

3 devices cannot delete device error.

So I had an issue that i somewhat resolved that was posted earlier. Now I am getting the 3 device error, and cannot delete a device. Been trying for 2 days to get Xfinity to work again. I have never had problems before. Any help deleting a device?

Re: "Product Device could not be deleted (4010)" error. - CANT DELETE DEVIC

I am getting the same error this morning and frankly, I'm getting quite fed up with this type of garbage.

I wanted directv, but opted for comcast because of the excellent selection available online, which I access frequently while at work. Only on this laptop.

lately it seems I am getting more and more errors.

So yeah, I'm a little irritated

Hey Joe,

Problem still happening - any eta on a resolution??????

Re: "Product Device could not be deleted (4010)" error. - CANT DELETE DEVIC

Joe, the problem is not solved.

All I want to do is watch a movie online.

Instead of a movie I get this:

Capture.PNG

I click MANAGE MY DEVICES, knowing I have the same 3 I've always had. In the past I've been able to watch online content on all 3 devices.

" Your Computers

You are currently using 3 out of 3 available computers. You'll need to remove one before authorizing another."

I decide to remove one of them. I click Remove.

Device #1: Product device could not be deleted. (4010)

Device #2: Product device could not be deleted. (4010)

Device #3: Product device could not be deleted. (4010)

I'm puzzled-why do you think I am using a device I've never used before? Why can I not remove at least one of the devices?  Since I could not deactivate a device using my desktop I tried it using the other 2 computers. Same results. It should not difficult to remove a device. Once again something that should be simple to do is made more complicated by Comcast.

Watching online is highly touted by Comcast as a perk of subscribing to Comcast cable tv. Since I pay big bucks for my tv tier I am not able to receive a service I pay for. While the amount for watching online may be small I do not like NOT getting what I pay for. Please let me know what small amount I should mention when I ask for a credit.

This is also happening to me.  Hello, Joe....you out there?  We need some help here, please!

Error 4010

I'm getting the same error whenever trying to delete an inappropriately registered device. (As in, it's the same computer but listed three times and I'm still getting errors stating that I have too many devices). I know others have had this issue in the past and I'm wondering if there was ever a fix to it or some other kind of solution?

With luck we may get a response from Joe today (Saturday).

If we are not lucky, since this is a holiday weekend, we may have to wait until Tuesday.

My 3 devices have the same name. They could be the same device. If they are they should not be. I've watched different things on 2 different computers.

Re: Authorized Devices Page

My daughter is the only one in the family to use xfinity on-line.  Suddenly now she gets the authorized devices limit block.  Your authorized devices page will not let me delete any of the devices (error 4010).  The authorized devices FAQ pages returns a server page not found error.  How can I actually manage the authorized devices.

Re: 3 devices cannot delete device error.

This is not the first time this issue has happened. http://forums.comcast.com/t5/XfinityTV-Website/Xfinity-Tv-Say-I-Have-Reach-Max/td-p/1133899

Maybe they could find out what solved it last time and try that this time.

There were no answers as to what the problem was then. If the past is anything to go by we won't get any answers this time.

Re: 3 devices cannot delete device error.

For everyone who has been inconvenienced - i would recommend that comcast give some type of refund - this is an error that has happended before and Comcast should be capable of not having happen - if have been trying to get support to help on this for over 2 hours - that seems a little excessive for the premium cable rate i pay

Same problem here can't watch any of my premium movie chnls... I've seen previous posts saying that the problem should be cleared up but it keeps happening.... Hopefully soon this issue will be cleared up and for good.... I only have 1 computer so I don't undertand how I have 3 authorized...

I only have one computer but it tells me I have 3 devices?

When I try to remove one it tells me that the device cannot be deleted.

Pretty slick piece of code you guys have implemented.  You're blocking our access.

Get it fixed please.

Re: 3 devices cannot delete device error.

I am having the same problem. Started a little bit ago.... There is only one computer that has ever accessed xfinity.  It's telling me I have three connected and won't let me disconnect anything (and I have no idea what the other devices could be!)

New Poster

Re: 3 devices cannot delete device error.

I'm getting this error as well. Some of the authorizations there date back years and were likely done on devices which have long since gone disused.

Has COMCAST identified the problem and do you have an ETA on when this issue could be resolved?

Silverlight issue on chrome and 3 devices error

Silverlight doesn't work on Chrome Vista. Also getting errors 4010 4003 when trying to manage my devices. I only use one computer for viewing shows on xfinity. I cannot delete any of the 3 that have been accessed on the same date. Also I can't even rename the devices (error 4003).

Service Expert

Re: 3 devices cannot delete device error.

FWIW, all 3 devices list the name as my Comcast user account name.

My computers have very unique names-none of which are my account name.

Hello,

No ETA at the moment on this issue, however we are closer to zeroing in on the problem. Again, our apologies for the inconvenience; we are working hard to resolve this as quickly as possible.

Thanks,

Re: "Product Device could not be deleted (4010)" error. - CANT DELETE DEVIC

I had the same problem and was equally frustrated by the Comcast site.  Here's the issue I had - maybe it's the same as yours...

- The comcast ID I've used for the past 8 years apparently is not the primary user ID - login and find your way to the self-test page (xfinitytv/comcast/rh) to check out what it is according to Comcast's system

- Avoid the telephone helpdesk at all costs - go via chat with an analyst - faster and less frustrating

- The analyst will guide you through how to access your primary ID (or make whatever you login with your primary one) - takes about 5 mins (you'll need your PIN - or they can provide/reset one)

- Once you do this, it will take you to the same device management screen (https://device.comcast.net/devices), but this time, a link shows up to remove the devices!!

Adding the one line 'NOTE:  You need to be logged in using the Primary ID before you can change the users on the app' would save a lot of time, effort and hassle.  Just sayin'

Hope this helps others.

Re: "Product Device could not be deleted (4010)" error. - CANT DELETE DEVIC

I had to call Comcast and spend 30 minutes on th phone to figure this out. The settings feature is missing, but you can manually enter in the address so you can fix it.

http://xfinitytv.comcast.net/mytv/settings

Then just go to my devices and it will work for you.
