xb3 modem should it be hooked up to voip port on commuscope amp

My xb3 modem is split off my line running to my x1dvr box in my living room. Should it be ran direct from the voip port on my commuscope 5 port amp in basement there's no line hooked up to the voip port, I think the tech should have ran a separate line for my voice /internet modem instead of splitting it off my main line going to my x1dvr box. Can someone help me out with this question, please. Thanks much appreciated

Answered in your private message, but so others see, it’s not necessary and happens all the time. The voip port is like having a 2 way splitter inside the amp ( the loss as posted on the label is the same as a 2 way). As some people have wireless boxes, with xb3’s moca needing to be enabled, the moca doesn’t pass through that voip port hindering communication.
