Sorry you were partially misinformed. You need the dvr and it's hard drive, for in house viewing and the cloud for mobile viewing.

Your right it's not possible, those boxes aren't DVRs just HD boxes.

Thanks Andrew.
I guess I misunderstood the xfinity person when was discussing my options to reduce my monthly costs. I was told that everything is stored in the cloud so the Dvr box was not required.

Comcast has hinted that they are moving in that direction but they are not there yet.
