Yes you can but make sure you get a receipt from Comcast when you do.

However what are you trying to accomplish?

I am trying to get away from all of the X1 software crashes, outages the seven and eight hour crashes that suddenly appear then just as suddenly go away without any explanations, also one of the most terrible remotes i have ever tried to use.

can you explain 'crash'? are there error messages?
