XiD-P wont shut off

XiD-P wont shut off

My XiD-P box wont shut off when I press the off button on the remote. It just started doing this. What is the problem?

On my XiD-P the green light goes out when off, but the unit stays warm because it's in standby.  If you pull the power plug entirely it takes several minutes to reboot and download guide data and start up.

This is the same problem that I have.  It has just started doing this.

 

I have two of these, and they always shut off.  "until recently"

 

Went to the local office, relayed the issue to them.

They gave us a replacement, and now this new one does not shut off!

 

I don't like having that bright light on while I sleep.

 

Everything I have read so far, says it is always suppose to stay on.

But, why!!!, did it start now???

If you search this forum, some have chosen to put elecrical tape over the light.

I spent an hour yesterday on the phone with tech support.  That was a waste of time.  They had a procedure they had to follow, and wasn’t going to get away from the structured plan.

 

tape is not an alternative,  it shut off before, and not now 

 

totally ridiculous.  

 

I want a real fix.

Ok, we had two boxes for over a year. And they went south at the same time.

Almost like Comcast did an upgrade on line.

 

Now they won’t a knowledge the problem. 

 

We we went and exchanged for new hardware same problem. 

 

I’ve been an electrical engineer for 40yrs.

 

i don’t plan on exchanging boxes forever.

Same here, 2 Xid-p boxes will not power down with remote. There is a power button in the corner above the light. Pain on the ×==×££€₩
