X1 Box erased recordings

X1 Box erased recordings

Why are my recordings being erased after 30 days?

I saved them for 1 year.

I do not always have the time to watch them within  the 30 days.

Some of the series from the 1970's I want to wait until at least most of the series is recorded.

you can swap any of the companion (non-DVR) set top boxes for another DVR. Will probably add just $10 to the 9.95 the companion box has. The model number you gave is the newest DVR (xg1v4) and is 4k HDR capable if your TV supports 4k. It is the new model that does not have a clock.

When viewing recordings, is the full percent shown on the home DVR(s) 90% or more (shown in red color)? If so the scheduler will remove older posts to make room for upcoming recordings. If you have set some of the recordings to 'keep' for one year, the one year expires and the recordings are eligible to be deleted as space is needed. Many users have more than one DVR to increase the total space available to record/keep recordings.

that % is from your streaming app or streaming website and it is giving you stats on your cloud DVR (not your home DVR - a separate device). Cloud DVR has 60 hours available. Home DVR has much more space is not measured in hours but in space available to use on the hard drive. The % full on both is a guide to each type of DVR but the percentage on one does not mean the same as the percentage on the other.

Re: X1 Box erased recordings

I really do  not understand the percentages any more.

there is no home DVR any more, so why would it say there is?

When they talked me into all this DVR stuff, I was told that i could record a whole series & watch all at once.

Re: X1 Box erased recordings

Sorry,

I was told by the technician before they switched out the box with hard drive, that there was more space in or on the Cloud than there is on the hard drive.

I was told that I would be able to record more with the Cloud.

How do you go about having more than one DVR?

cloud DVR is limited to 60 hours per DVR in your home account (I have 3 so have 3*60 = 180 hours on cloud). There is a current beta where a customer has no X1 equipment in the home but has internet delivered instant TV. If you have set top boxes in your home look for at least one that has a clock (all DVRs but the most recent 4k DVR have a clock on the front panel). have a device with a clock?

the cloud DVR is a free feature for X1 DVR customers and it is limited to 60 hours (per each DVR customer has on their home account). To add a DVR decide if you want an additional set top box outlet (another TV) or take one of the non-DVRs in and swap for a DVR. the rate for DVR is just $10 more than a companion HD box. The cloud and home DVRs are separate and record at the same time.

Re: X1 Box erased recordings

First, thank you very much.

You are much more informative than any of the technicians have been so far.

3 of them have been to my house this week.

Last week a box with clock was switched for another one like it.

That is when the recordings first erased.

Sunday morning another tech switched that one for an: AX014ANC.

The number below that one is SN M11726TR2055.

What you just posted is the reason your recordings are gone. The new dvr has access to the last 60 hours of recordings from the cloud and that's it. Anything past the 60 hour mark that was on the previous DVR's hard drive is lost and gone as soon as the technician took it with them.

Re: X1 Box erased recordings

I was told that I would not lose ANY recordings saved to the Cloud.

I would not have let them insist on swapping  if they had been truthful.

What can I do now to add more DVR space?

Re: X1 Box erased recordings

The technicians told me the opposite.

They said that I would have more space available in the Cloud.

Re: X1 Box erased recordings

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

I am resigned to the fact that I will never get my recordings back.

They were ERASED, not deleted as I keep being told.

I have been told innumerable times to "check the deleted folder".

My daugher works full-time at least 6 days a week.

We want for her especially to be able to record & watch her shows on her RARE days off.

Do you know if I can still get an "old" box, the ones with the clocks?

the Comcast center may have them on-hand. be sure not to get a DVR pace version 1 (only has 5 tuners, yours has 6 available).
