Wiring Topography Changes

Hi gang...

We recently upgraded to Xfinity's X1 service and I started getting terrible pixelation issues on the televisions. I am new to all this and need some help. I replaced the existing splitters to reduce signal loss and now have the setup as listed in section one of the attached image but I still get some pixelation now and then. I cannot pull individual lines for the modem and kitchen run and would like to know if adding an amplified splitter and changing the layout as show in section two will benefit me? What should I look for in the seemingly endless availability of choices?

Thanks!

Re: Wiring Topography Changes

Go with number 2 with an amp like the attached pic but a 5 port model. If it’s not one of these you’ll have moca issues

Re: Wiring Topography Changes

Thanks for your reply... why a 5-port if there only 4 lines leaving the demarcation? And, MoCA enabled amp?

The fifth port is the voip port (between input and power), not being used. Put the modem/dvr outlet in port one, and then port 2 gets the next longest outlet from the point of the amp, and so on. The amps only come in 5 and 9 ports. We use the the U/U model in the field, not sure if the U/P supports MOCA.

Not by purchase but a tech can install one. Check eBay?

No eBay account, but I guess I will have one soon. I appreciate your time. Take care!

So, there's no surprises when you get one, do you have power in the area where the amp will go?
