TV Wireless Set Top Box

I had an Xfinity gateway and 3 TV set boxes, 2 of which connect wirelessly. Since I had my own cable modem, and it was a compatible one, I installed this and removed the gateway (and returned the gateway to Xfinity). Now, my upstairs TV doesn't get cable TV. Is there a way to fix this, or do I need to have the Xfinity gateway in order to connect the wireless TV boxes? (If the gateway is required, why isn't that specified prominently in the page telling you how to activate your own cable modem?!!)

Yes, you need the Comcast gateway re-installed or change out the wireless boxes to wired boxes
