Selecting Closed Captioning just got more difficult

Selecting Closed Captioning just got more difficult

I noticed this morning that an update changed the ease of operation for the worse.

Sometimes I want to turn CC ON and go back 15 seconds to see what the actor mumbled.

I used to hit the DOWN arrow, CC was highlighted, press the center button and it is toggled ON or OFF. Today I hit the DOWN arrow and PAUSE is highlighted, had to hit LEFT two times, then the center button. There is danger of hitting "Start Over".

Who approves these boneheaded changes ? Those Pause and other buttons are redundant. Better to have only Closed Captioning and SAP, etc only by hitting the DOWN arrow.

The progress indicator is good though.

Yes, I have the right to complain when an update makes things more difficult, it now requires four button presses instead of two. Not good for battery life in the Remote either.

Put it back the way it was, please!

Don't see how the link helps the closed captioning problem. I would love a one-button solution.

BTW, I totally agree with the complaint in the message about arbitrary changes and how do they get approved. Arbitrary changes to the user interface is really disturbing.

Voice command probably uses more battery power too.

There should be a dedicated button on the remote for something that is used so much.

So, who decides how the next software update will affect operation? Like I said, some of the things they do just make life harder, so I still think they are boneheads.

Re: Selecting Closed Captioning just got more difficult

I suppose that works better, still seems a little slow.

Thanks.

Last night, mine switched back to CC as the first choice.  Must be something the server is remembering.
