Select Your Language Screen Remote not selecting English

It is almost Thanksgiving, and I was at the Xfinity store twice today. I finally got the 3rd X1 Voice box to boot up, and I also can't get past the initial *Select Your Language* screen during setup. 
Lights are working on remote, but it doesn't seem to be communicating with the new cable box. Re-powering the box and the TV seems to recycle the signal back to this same language screen each time, but no matter which key/s I press -- no response at all. Once it cycled to the "Enter your phone # screen" and I tried to enter the last 4 digits of my Comcast Voice #, and the remote only flashed red when I was punching in the digits.   I did use this help tip to tell the remote to turn the tv on and off, and volume control.  But I cannot access my Cable. HELP!
 
  1. Turn on the TV you are programming.
  2. Press and hold the "Setup" button until the status LED at the top of the remote changes from red to green.
  3. Type in the 4-digit or 5-digit code listed below using the number buttons. Additional codes may be found in the remote manual.

press the remote's setup button and hold until remote's LED changes to green. type in numbers 9 8 1 => the remote's lights will go off for a moment and be in factory reset mode allowing you to proceed.

Thank you Rustyben! That worked, I finished the setup, programmed the remote, and cancelled the service call for tomorrow!
