It is getting better.  I talked to a CSR yesterday and they were able to resolve a billing issue that included talking to a tech in addition to the billing CSR.

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

Kick off time and no extra time games - Comcast do something..,,NOW
Contributor

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

At 9:05 (central) I had tiles available for all 3 extra time games and all 3 games are actually viewable!

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

Thanks Tim. All 3 games showed up in the On Demand Extra Time menu around 7 minutes after. All 3 came up starting with the kickoff, not the usual 8 minutes or so of pregame and lineups, so this looks like yet another afterthought when it comes to getting these matches up.

Contributor

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

So they come up 10 minutes after the game starts - why can't you get your act together and start them 10 minutes early
Regular Contributor

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

This weekend all 3 Extra Time games came up 5 minutes before kickoff in the On Demand menu, all loaded easily, with improved video and audio quality. Much appreciated.

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

Yes, great to see it's possible to get it all right. Well done, but please keep it up, Comcast.

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

Well i would not go overboard.... we are 11 games into the season! Anyone with decent customer service would have it right for game 1!!!!!

Hi Guys,

Just got the X1 platform. I know from reading this thread that these "PL Extra time" games (Games that NBC does not show on regular TV) only appear a few mins (if we are lucky lol) before kick off.

I presume these appear in the On Demand section of X1? , but can anyone please tell me EXACTLY where in the on Demand Section they actually appear??

Thanks very much for your help...

Contributor

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

On Demand > Sports > More Sports > Soccer > Extra Time

The "Extra Time" directory doesn't appear until shortly before (sometimes shortly after) kickoff. Then under "Extra Time" there will be selectable tiles for (hopefully) each extra time game.

Teddys, you're from Leicester? Wow, what a ride you had. I'm from Chicago, so quite a ride the Cubs gave us here just recently. Good times for both of us.

Yes SJ , Leicester Born n Bred , waited 40+ years for it to happen (my first game at Filbert St was in 1972). Not doing so well this year , but thats how it is :-) , as I never , ever thought we would ever win it in my wildest dreams. Only thing is this year NBC are hardly showing any of our games live , as they dont consider us a "big club". Same old , same old.. They only think people are interested in Manu, Chelski , Spurs (who came 3rd lol) and The ARSEnal :-)

Have to admit , I was rooting for your Cubs , as I am a Big Back to the Future fan - only a year late. all the best to you mate...

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

Yes, a bit of a surprising letdown in the PL so far, but Champions League surely they've done you proud so far. Your boys have Watford tomorrow, so hoping you get 3 points there.

I'm traveling to England for the first time in May. Really looking forward to it! All the best to you also, Teddy.

Now, let's hope all is smooth again tomorrow with Extra Time.

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

The games have stated and no extra time tiles - why am I surprised!

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

Tiles are up now. Glad they're up, but this method is so weak.

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

This is annoying for the following reason:

On Their "Xfinity TV" App , CC have Five pre assigned "Channels" (EPLX1-5) that they use to show the feed

that comes from the Premier League Via NBC Sports. You can find these by going to the App and searching "EPL". There is a test card type thing showing 24/7 when games are not being shown..

They (NBC Sports) assign the games the night before to these Channels , this week Leicester/watford was on EPLX4

The feed from the ground started at exactly 9.50 (there was  even a countdown clock).

So CC have full control over this. I cant believe they dont assign EPLX1-5) to the On Demand section the night before. that way we would all be happy..

I even tried watching the feed on my tablet and then Casting it to the TV using screen mirroring , but guess what? CC has screen mirroring locked down due to copyright stuff..

I can watch the Non Broadcast games via the NBC Sports app and then casting to my TV via my Chromcast , but it does not always work correctly and the feed cuts off at half time and shows crazy commericals over and over again.

As said before on these Forums , CC does not make it easy for us all to watch these games , unlike Direct TV which I understand always work perfectly...

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

Another Saturday, another set of missing Premier League Extra Time games. Only 2 this weekend but both MIA at 10:05 Eastern.

Correction: 2 games appear at 10:05. No pregame or lineups, they start with kickoff.

Hull City game is showing under the Hull City tile.

NBC made a last minute program change. Swansea game is on CNBC.

Tile for Swansea is showing Middlesbrough/Leicester City, which is the other Extra Time game this week.

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

Saturday 12/3 - 2 of the 3 Extra Time games will not play after selecting Watch from the tile in the Premier League folder. Error message is "Unable to Play Video" XRE-03092.

Stoke/Burnley and West Brom/Watford will not play.

Sunderland/Leicester is the only one that does.

Some support please Comcast.

Contributor

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

Stoke vs Burnley "unable to play video"
West Brom vs Watford "unable to play video"

Whether it's hardware, software, bandwidth, or personnel, Comcast is not dedicating the resources to pull this off. I can't say anything that hasn't been said already.

Contributor

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

Assuming they gave you a ticket number you can at least use that to demand they shave something off your next bill. Though that would take another phone call probably.
Contributor

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

Well I never received a call back from "Tier3" as promised (anyone surprised) and it also appears that Comcast do not monitor these conversations anymore - have they given up trying to work out how to perform this simple function? Are they too embarrassed to make an apperance?

So I repeat a previous posting..... Comcast Support - an oxymoron and await next weekends debacle.

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

It's only Burnley v Bournemouth. Why bother, right Comcast? To all those at Comcast who are tasked with making ALL matches available, on time, to paying customers, but choose not to dedicate the resources to deliver, you are stealing money from our pockets with every paycheck you cash. #TRUTH

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

How do I watch the Albion v Swansea game live today? What folders do I go through to find it OnDemand?
Has this issue relentlessly all season if only it was simple and just showed up in a folder hours before kick off.
Contributor

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

Well, I will say that the Saints vs Boro game showed up 5 minutes before kickoff on Sunday. Now it was the ONLY on demand game that day so perhaps things get much worse for some reason when there are more than one?  Typically the tile only shows up a few minutes after the game has started which is not very good obviously.

Frequent Visitor

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

Thanks ever so much mate. Pretty dodgy service from Comcast but will do that. Do you know what folders I go through to find it? Like ondemand/sports/moresports/soccer/?
Contributor

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

Yes, ondemand - sports - soccer (sorry at work so don't have the exact wordage) then the tile should show up. SHOULD but often doesn't.  The bad thing of course, is that there's no place holder in advance you just have to check at game time, and if it's not there keep looking for ten mimuntes with fingers crossed!

Otherwise do it on your computer through NBC sports website.  That's what I'm doing and the Saints vs stoke game is scheduled for 12pm rather than 11:45 - not sure if that means I'll miss the first 15minutes or not......

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

All 4 Extra Time games on Saturday (12/31) were available and could be viewed without issue.

But here we are in the new year and Comcast is taking the day off again. Neither of the 2 extra time games will play. "Sorry, we're having some trouble" is the message on both.
Contributor

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

I got the same error message - Sorry we are unable to play this content, try again later - or something similar. I rebooted my dvr and all was good.  The last two weeks all has been good really, other than this strange error issue.

Contributor

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

Okay, thanks Ken.

In the past when I'd seen that message I certainly tried to reboot the box/dvr with no success. I'll try it again the next time. Won't be able to try the 2 games tomorrow, as I'll be at work.

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

Hi,

I switched from DirecTV to X1 about a month ago.  For the most part I am VERY impressed with the system.  I think the interface is really good and easy to use.  My only complaints so far have to do with the handling of EPL coverage and recordings.

I've read enough of this post to get the gist of how the Extra Time coverage is handled.  It seems silly and painful, but I'm glad I found this thread or I wouldn't have known about it at all.  I'll keep my fingers crossed that it gets better over time.

The reason I found this thread was because I was looking for an answer to a different question.  I saw it touched on a few pages back, but I'm hoping this audience can give me some pointers on how to best record games.

With DirecTV, I simply set my DVR to record EPL games...and it worked pretty well....even for ExtraTime games. I see with X1 that the matches are labeled in a way that makes them pretty unique by including the teams in the title.  While this seems like a useful bit of data to include in the title, it makes it hard to do what I want.  DTV made me pretty lazy and it was nice not having to go in every week and manually record the games.  Is there a way to get there with X1 too?

I did see that I can pick some favorite teams and record them...but that has other problems.  If I pick a team and tell it to record, it seems to get all instances (non-HD and also the coverage from Spanish channels).

Is there a clean/simple way to either record all games with confidence or select some teams and only get one instance?

Finally, props to ComcastTony for sticking with this topic and trying to help.   Don't scare him off guys!

Smiley Happy

Anyone able to offer suggestions for recording EPL games easily and not manually?

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

See all 4 extra time tiles this morning, but getting the "unable to play video" message on all 4 games. Tried cycling power on box, did not fix issue.

Never heard back from you, ComcastTony.

Can someone else post to say if the games are playing for you or not?

Getting the same response in Atlanta. Started a separate day specific topic to see if that would get a more rapid response, but nothing so far.

Contributor

Re: Premier League Extra Time 2016

This is unbeleivable, Comcast seems to be able to find a new way every time to ruin their premier league coverage.

I too am getting "unable to play video". Rebooting did no good.  San Fran south bay area.
