My X1 TV just went to a grey screen with the words performing routine maintenance across the screen. This lasted about 1 minute or a little longer. I have never seen this before. Why did it happen? Why is it happening in the middle of the day rather than in the evenings when the updates are scheduled? How do I syop it from happening during the middle of the day?
I got that message earlier too, it only stayed on for maybe 30 seconds. I was playing around in the setting so I thought it was something I did, guess not. It went back to regular programing though. I'm from NE PA.
Must be Xfinity was hacked by the Russians or the North Koreans!!!! Or someone who wants to bring the B button back. :>) Just kidding Xfinity.

Thanks. WindsurfMaui. I do see some signal issues from your DVR which could be a reason why this maintenance message appeared. Please make sure there aren't any kinks in the coaxial cabling and ensure the coax is in snug to the DVR and into the wall outlet.

I will check my cables but as you can see people all over the country received the same message.

Yeah I did see that this error message occurred across the country. If anyone is still seeing this message, I can take a look at the device diagnostic to make sure there isn't a common error on your cable box.
No I think it was a one time thing. It was just strange to get that particular screen. When we have a problem usually the screen goes black or we get the red screen that gives instructions. So that was a new screen and we didn't understand how the problem was different than when we get the red screen.
I definitely get what you're saying. Most of the error messages that come up on the X1 come with an RDK or XRE code. Did this error message display that (if you can remember)?
Ken if you scroll up someone posted a screen grab of the error message. I don't see a code. (I have to remember how to do that. I do it so seldom I keep forgetting how to do it.) :>)
Oh right, thanks. We have a delay in viewing pictures on our end. Definitely a strange error message. Let me know if it comes back.
