I got a message today on my X1 saying a Netflix app beta is available to try. I don't have Netflix but I do have Amazon Prime. Will Comcast be providing an app for Amazon Prime too? It would be nice not to have a Fire Stick taking up one of my HDMI ports.

This would be doubtful at this time......

I agree this would be great. But I am not holding my breath.

Yes, an Amazon streaming app would be superb! Now that XFINITY and Netflix have learned to play nice together (I've had it a week now and love it...so much slicker than my TV's smart app) I'm hoping Amazon is next. This would be a coup for XFINITY (giving customers a one-stop shop for the most popular streaming services), and expand Amazon's subscriber base. Everyone wins!

I am hoping that we can get an update from an XFinity employee to see if Amazon Prime app is being looked into.  I can tell you that a ton of people would sign up for X1 if they did acquire that along with their epic get of Netflix.

Amazon Prime is not something that you should expect anytime soon. Maybe down the line, but not at this moment.

Comcast employees can't/won't comment on stuff like this until an official public announcement has been made.

Comcast has been rather silent on the issue of Amazon.

Add my vote for Amazon Prime.  I think this would be good for Comcast, if they could be your one-and-only set top box.

A response to this question noted that it was very unlikely to be an Amazon Prime app - well there is.  I don't how to get it but some people I know have the app for their amazon prime acct. How do you get it on your xfinity tv?

There isn't one. It would be on a third party device or Smart TV

I'm a Comcast employee. The next app to come out will be YouTube. No word about Amazon Prime yet. I'm also waiting for it.

Yes, there's an Amazon Prime Video app for phones. Not for X1

With Comcast degrading the video to 720p, I find myself watching Netflix and Amazon Prime videos on my Amazon Fire box instead. Why watch 720p when you can watch 1080p? And for crying out loud why can't the Comcast Netflix app mark watched the Netflix shows you have watched, instead of forcing you to manually mark them.

No thanks, I'll get my external services external to Comcast's box.

I whole heartily agree with everything you said. Some of the decisions Comcast makes are mind boggling.

Under settings, there's an option (under Apps) to add Amazon Prime; hopefully that means it won't be long before the app is actually availae!

Take another look, are you possibly looking at your Smart TV apps?
