Accessing signal strength diagnostics on Arris MX011ANM box

I am trying to find my signal strength. I have seen the instructions to hold exit button for five seconds, press down, etc etc and have tried this repeatedly but it does not work. What am I doing wrong?

keep trying. after entering the code can take up to 5 seconds for the white background screen to appear.

 

press exit for 3-5 seconds quickly press down down "2"
