xfinity streaming

Whenever I am streaming an xfinity show my laptop dies. It just totally shuts down. It doesn't do with this with Netflix or Hulu, just xfinity. Any idea?

Re: xfinity streaming

Saying that your "laptop dies" when streaming is really not very helpful and I doubt you will get any useful answers with that little information.

What are the actual symptons i.e. (what browser are you using?) does playback just stop with no error message; does your browser crash if so what are the crash messages from the system log? Have you tried a different browser i.e. FireFox, Chrome etc.

Have you made sure that your Flash and Silverlight plugins are the latest available versions?

Have you made sure that the video driver for the graphics adapter in your notebook is the latest available version?

How are you connected? At home to your own router? If so are you connected by ethernet cable or wireless? Are you connected to an Xfinity wifi hotspot? If you are connecting wirelessly have you checked that the drivers for your wirless adapter are the latest version? If you are using a third party router i.e. Linksys, D-Link, Netgear is would be helpful if you posted the brand and model.

Providing the information that I related and trying all of these things or letting us know that you've tried them will be very helpful in troubleshooting your issue.
