why can't we fast forward?

Now it seems we have to watch EVERYTHING.....including the commercials. because we can't fast forward.  Who has time for that? What are we paying for?

Depending on what box you have, you can often use PageUp to jump 5 minutes ahead. If needed, you can then rewind back. It will often be faster than sitting through the commercials.

You may notice that you can still fast-forward through some on demand programming, but not others. That's because disabling features is entirely up to the networks and not the cable or satellite provider.

This is the worst!  I can accept the no FastForward thing when there's reduced commercials, but forcing me sit to through full commercials is just straight up dirty and complete BS!

I know there's nothing we can do to change this BS, but that doesn't stop me from being PO'd once again by this over-priced service that seems to lose more features than it gains.

Sorry if I sound like a douche.  I hate commercials more than the average person, I think.  lol.

I hate commercials, too. If something I want to watch is on both Comcast On Demand or Hulu Plus, I choose Hulu Plus. Neither service allows you to skip commercials, but Hulu has shorter as breaks.

I often pause a program and when selecting resume it starts from the beginning. Fast forward disabled so not sitting to wait. If i leave it play and come back after it ends then must sit from beginning. The definition of on demand goes against this.

If you pause too long in OnDemand, it times out, but doesn't remember where you are. If you think you may be away for more than 2-3 minutes, hit STOP instead, so it will remember where you are.

The networks control that (under contract). But guess what. I refuse to watch a TV show On Demand  that disables FF and  already made money on those commercials. I pay for cable TV too, I should at least be entitled to FF a TV show that already ran. In Fact, if a re-run that disables FF On Demand is watched, forcing us to watch commercial, then the cable-paying-customer should get a percentage of that commercial money.

Some of these 'boxes' jump 10 minutes ahead and that is not doing anybody any favors.
