unable to detect a compatible DVR in your household

unable to detect a compatible DVR in your household

Have found lots of posts about this issue but no fixes. iPad TV remote app worked well with my old silver Magnovox cable box, but that died, so now I have a black Xfinity modem (not the new X1). Cannot connect the DVR through the xfinity website or the TV remote app. Multiple calls and dropped calls have me quite frustrated. Now waiting to hear back from a "specialist." Tried rebooting cable box, deleting app from iPad and reinstalling, emptying the cache in my browser, etc. multiple times. Still get the error message. The cable box I have now is supposed to work with the remote app and the online site. Did anyone find out what the fix was? Hate to replace the box again, but that may be our next option...

Re: unable to detect a compatible DVR in your household

Are you still having this problem?  I was able to record remotely phone using the TV Remote app until a few months ago.  I have called and called and have had those calls escalated.  I have even had a technician to my home to check things out and noone can fix it.  Also the caller ID on my TV screen does not work anymore.  Customer service said my DVR is not communicating with them but the technician says everything looks good when he checked things at my home.
