solution for the problem

I like many have had this problem:


DVR Manager is available in your area. However, we are 
unable to detect a compatible DVR in your household.


I called Comcast and was told that I needed a new DVR. They sent me one and I returned the old one and after connecting and activating the new one I found the same problem. I worked with the CSR and she mentioned something that piqued my interest. There is a software guide in the DVR. I checked the version and lo and behold, it is an old version which prevents the DVR connecting to the system for DVR manager programming.  I will be called when they know when they woill send the updated version out. Until then we have to wait. I would think that with the thousands of views that I have seen in this forum, they would want to do this sooner than later.

Can I ask what version of the guide you do have?

I sent the unit back to you as requested. You have this info from the individual I spoke with.
