iPad Playback Issues

I've downloaded movies from Comcast to my iPad.  Two problems have occurred when I tried to play them over the past week. 

#1 Problem: For two of the movies I get a message on my iPad from Comcast ,"Playback Issue 11800" when I try to play them.   The movies are "Casino Royale" and "7 Seconds" 

#2Problem:  Last week the power went out in my house for 8 hours.  So I thought what a good time to watch a Comcast movie I'd downloaded on my iPad.  I got a message that since the iPad couldn't connect with the Comcast server, I could not play any of the movies I'd downloded previously.  Why does this occur since I like to take my iPad camping where there is no WiFi?  Thanks.
