As that is up to the content provider, most will not work. Content that has United States rights only, can only play back from inside the United States.
What app or website are you trying to watch live TV on? Maybe the Comcast support person knows more than the average user, but according to the XFINITY TV Go App FAQs it clearly states:
Can I stream or download outside of the United States?
The XFINITY TV Go app allows you to stream and download in the continental U.S. plus Hawaii and Alaska. All other countries, including U.S. territories, are blocked but your downloaded content can be played back anywhere - even if you are out of the country.
Now I know you can't be using the Xfinity TV app or Xfinity TV web portal to watch live TV, since it doesn't even allow live TV out of home, regardless of being out of country.
So which is it, some content is allowed out of country or no content is allowed? Maybe the FAQs need to be updated if some is allowed.
I am sure it is due to agreements with content providers and USTVnow. I am not privy to that information and would be remiss to say one way or the other.
