Hello - Since Monday July 13th in the middle of watching a TV Show on xfinitytv the video stopped playing and it displayed the following message - "This video cannot be played.

This content on Xfinity TV is not available for viewing in Private mode. To play this video using Firefox, please view this page without Private mode enabled."


1. Firefox has never been or was suddenly switched to private mode

2. I have the latest version of Firefox 39.0 and have been using this version and all prior versions on Firefox the same settings and watching xfinitytv videos without any problem whatsoever until now

3. I spent 41 minutes with an agent "Brian" at Comcast technical support to go over basic troubleshooting such as reseting firefoz to default settings, lauching firefox in safe mode without any addons, changing this, checking this, rebooting my computer, trying other laptops and handheld devices on the network, etc etc but in vain. No disrespect but this agent "Brian" did not even have half a brian in my opinion. Lets just say its was most painful.

4. After a 1 hour 6 minute and 55 second hold was connected to a supervisor based in the Phillipines who was a nice lady but God she knew nothing about the shows and content in the US. I literally had to spell out every work to her such as names of the shows I was trying to watch, etc. Now it has been escalated to higher technical support and am told it could take anywhere from 48 to 72 hours!


Most ridiculous experience to date. I am now sick of Comcast and just cannot wait to dump them as soon as Verizon FIOS is available in the area over the next 5 months (they just installed an optic fiber hub a few block away and are now working on laying the cables).


Clearly this is a known issue that has been happening with xfinitytv for ages. How come not a single user or comcast has posted a solution that actually works yet????
