error "run channel auto scan"

Hello,  problem started when my voice activated xfinity remote grew legs and couldn't find it.  I went to an xfinity store and received a new remote.  Turned TV on to activate remote and keep receiving error with blue screen "run channel auto scan" my tv is connected directly with my cable box.  I used the buttons on the side of the TV and it kept running scan 3 types of channels looking for (analog) (digiital) then some rf  only found 100+ of these then error kept repeating.  Is this a TV issue and not an xfinity cable issue?  If I replace the tv will this solve the issue?

  Thank you so much!

How is your cable box hooked up to the tv?

Re: error "run channel auto scan"

Ok thank you, I'll run through it by trying all 3 hdmi inputs to see which is the right one.

Thank you!

Re: error "run channel auto scan"

Why are you running a "Channel scan" with the TV remote? On Comcast cable all channels are scrambled so none will be found to view.

If you have followed directions and correctly installed to cable-box, all channels will be found by using the cable remote to change channels or using the channel listings. No scanning is need for either the tv, or the cable-box.
