cable box

My main cable box with the DVR is going crazy.  I noticed a white, flashing light.  I turned on the tv and the channel number appeared, then went off and a series of "8's appeared.  The TV comes on briefly with picture and sound, then the 8's appear again and it shuts down.  Huh?

Sounds like the DVR is going bad and may need to be swapped out.  You can do this yourself at your local Service Center.  Locations can be found using this link:  http://customer.xfinity.com/service-center-locations

Sounds like the DVR is going bad and may need to be swapped out.  You can do this yourself at your local Service Center.  Locations can be found using this link:  http://customer.xfinity.com/service-center-locations

The 8888 message usually means that we need to replace that cable box.

Please give us a call at 1-800-COMCAST and we can arrange to ship you a replacement box, have a technician come out and replace it or you can swap out your box at the local service center listed below.
