bogus DRM message after updating silverlight

Your ap is working fine on my Ipad, but when I try to watch HBO on my PC, after installing the updated silverlight for IE (it would not work for Chrome), I get the following error message when trying to watch and HBO shoe:

This video cannot be played.

We notice you do not have DRM support enabled for Microsoft Silverlight  (Error 525|6013).

For instructions on how to fix your problem click below.

When I go into silverlight, it shows that DRM protection IS already checked.

Help.

Delete Silverlight and then try clearing any hidden PlayReady cache. To do that:

Go to Start and search "cmd". "cmd.exe will appear and right-click it and Run as an administrator. Now enter the folling into the command line:

cd %ProgramData%\Microsoft\PlayReady\
del *.hds
rmdir /S Cache

You'll be presented with a Yes/No prompt. Hit Y and press Enter. Windows will delete the hidden Cache folder and all its content.

After that, please installed the version of Silverlight linked below:

Re: bogus DRM message after updating silverlight

That worked. In fact deleting silver light was not necessary. Unfortunately, the tech support person I called at comcast had no idea that this was the solution, and I noticed that I was having similar issues with Netflix, so I called them. They walked me through the solution you offered up very quickly. I would have seen this sooner except apparently no notification goes out to my other email accounts, and I'm not in the habit of checking the comcast specific email very often.

Its great that there are folks who monitor this forum who give accurate advice, but a litle distressing that the phone support folks no nothing about it. She was going to have a tech call me back in 24-48 hours. No call ever came.
