Xfinity online - playback issues

Trying to watch the Good Wife season 5 for the xfinity free play.

I've watched some episodes previously but I am rewatching.

I play a little bit of episode and then it switches to screen like I have finished the episode auto countdown to go to the next one......again, i've only watched a few minutes of the episode.

I click replay episode...the episode goes directly to minute 43ish of the episode - not back to the beginning.

A moment later back to the you've finished the episode the next episode will start in 10 seconds screen.

Replay episode again

starts playing on minute 43.

When I click to move back to the beginning or even in the middle it plays for maybe 4 seconds in the right place but then again instantly to the you've finished episode screen.

Same thing is happening to me!!! Very frustrating.

I've experienced this problem for almost a year (as well as commercials getting stuck and the episodes never continues) and more often than not with CBS shows in particular, sometimes it will stop for a while and then come back. It's almost certainly some problem on either the Comcast system or the addvertisting servers that Comcast uses. Unfortunatly you won't get any help here from the Comcast people, either they will never answer you or if they do they will simply ask you for some useless system information and again never answer. If you try and call Comcast support, anyone you talk to will deny that there's a problem or that they know anything about it even if you reference threads here with dozens of people complaining about the same problem.

 

The only advise I can give you is the same advise I was given when I first posted about this problem: Go right to the networks website and watch the episode from there, it's always worked fine for me and I'm sure it'll work for you.

Me, too.  Exactly the same thing.  Very frustrating that it happens.  Even more frustrating that the company doesn't care about the problem and can't be bothered to fix it.

 

Maybe if there was some actual competition amongst providers we'd actually see some responsiveness.

 

This is what industry consolidation provides to the consumer -- less and less.
