In the past I have been able to watch premium content on xfinity through my laptop. But today, when I tried, it did not recognize me as a premium HBO/Showtime subscriber. I called and after four people I got to xfinity tv support who said he would reset all my authorizations and it would be okay after an hour.
I waited an hour, and I was able to watch the episode of Homeland I wanted. Then I took a break and when I logged back on when I try to finish watching the episode, it tells me I need to be a subscriber.
Here is the information screen:
I tried to open on firefox and same result:
I just downloaded google chrome and tried to log in and view Homeland. Ive never opened Chrome on this computer, so there shouldnt be any issue with cookies, etc, affecting the authorization. So it has to be something going on with the Xfinity internet server which has incorrectly identified me as not being authorized as a premium subscriber, which I am. Please help. I assume this is why my ipad app is also failing.
I am having the same problem! It says I must be a subscriber of the premium channels but I am in fact a subscriber. Very frustrating to not be able to enjoy content that I have paid for.
click the tv tab on the top of this page and then to profile in the top right make sure you do all the steps to complete your profile. make sure you have the right zip code in for your service. also if none of that works go to your box guide and to remote set up. if you see that you can delete it there and then try to resych it wi
There could be many issues as everyone’s pc is different and has different programs on it. First thing to do, clear your cache and your cookies. click the tv tab top right of this page then on the right side there you will see your profile, click the drop down and complete your profile. Make sure your zip code is set correctly and not set to automatic. Make sure you are a subscriber to the channel you are trying to watch. Also some people have found that if you download cccleaner http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner and run it and let it take out all the cookies and left over garbage that fixes it also. Also make sure you have the most current version of Microsoft Silverlight and Flash and you’re not using ie 9 there are currently problems with that browser.
You can also try turning off your antivirus and firewall as that might be blocking it also. AS you can see there are many things it might be.
Read several of the post the last few days. Have the same issue as everyone esle. I did uninstall my anitvirus, updated silverlight and also downloaded Chrome. It worked for one show and then went back to not working. I uninstalled and reinstalled silverlight. Re-cleared everything with the suggested cleaner program and still does not work. :manmad:
