Xfinity TV app installs fine but it will not work

I'm subscribing to xfinity steaming only service. It installs Xfinity TV app on any device ( so they say) my Windows laptop working, my Nexus pad working very old hp pad working six months old chromebook (off brand) but nice the app installs no problem, I can see channels, recordings and live channels but when I press "WATCH" I get a message that contents can only play on handheld device because of some kind of security. Android version is 5.1 this thing is few pounds and I can take it from place to place; I believe it is handheld device. So far technical support is clueless. I believe that Comcast is restricting things too much. When I pay for something it should play on any device with stated OS.
