Xfinity TV Freezing Up

Xfinity TV Freezing Up

Lately, I am having serious problems when watching my DVR recordings on my laptop.

The recording freezes up, then starts, then freezes, etc.

I have cleared cache, cookies, have restarted Xfinity TV, to no avail.

Is this a Comcast issue? Not sure if it has to do with watching the program while it is still recording.

Who else is experiencing this?

Re: Xfinity TV Freezing Up

My first thought is that you are using wifi with your laptop.  Is that true?

Yes, I am using wifi.

Could the wifi be the cause?

It was working just fine before.

Try using the App while you are as close to the wifi gateway as you can get.

It sounds like Internet connectivity issues. Rebooting your modem is a common solution:

If you are having issues at consistent points in your DVR recordings, it could indicate corrupt Cloud DVR recordings. Unfortunately, the only way to "fix" these are to re-record them at a different time (if possible).

Re: Xfinity TV Freezing Up

Thanks for the Information. I will try it.

However, I think something else might also be going on.

My two recordings ( America's got Talent and World of Dance) were having serious issues playing back yesterday and I ended up having to watch them on my regular TV. I mention this because AGT was showing as 122mins, but when I went to watch it on my laptop, it was shwoing only 1:45mins ( apprx 75 mins) . It was also skipping during playback and freezing up. Same for World of Dance, which is now reporting an Error on playback,.

"This Video Cannot Be Played

We've run into a problem while streaming The Cut 2.

(Error 102100.5: Loading of the specified resource has failed)

Diagnostics"

I think there is an issue with DVR recording playback on Xfinity Streaming.

I think they are getting corrupted.

Not sure how.

Just wanted to let you know.
