Please uninstall the Silverlight plug-in and try playing a video again. You will now be prompted to download Silverlight. Please follow all the on-screen instructions, restart your browser, and then attempt to play the video again.

Re: Xfinity 525/6037 Error

Yes, I have done that several times.  I have stated I have done that several times. I have read you have given that advice to a number of people as well.

Additionally, I have done that for both IE and Chrome on two basically identical computers  - same result.

Go here and please try an older version of Silverlight and let me know if it works.

Re: Xfinity 525/6037 Error

I will perform that task and report back.

I suggest that given the number complaints on this particular issue there should be a FAQ identifying the variations of the issue, the various actions that have resulted in success.

For example. It has been stated that some programs may exhibit this behavior and some do not.  This is very significant in the many people would normally assume it either works or does not work for all programs.

Additionally, it would helpful to identify why this is the case.

Also, there should be some analytical or system state information identified as relevant to this problem and their needs to be method to capture systems state with respect to that information in order to confirm the root cause and issue resolution.

The few variations on "Try this" approach are not producing the desired result effectively.  In addition there is no indication that this issue will be resolved for future users with this approach. (assuming it is being resolved for current users)
