XI-5 picture trouble shooting. Picture is smooth sometimes, sometimes it stops and stutters.

Please help me. I'm at my wits end, and I'm trying to avoid Comcast having to come to my house to fix this while screwing up something else for the tenth time.

 

 

A comcast tech installed this box in her room after he said it would be a PITA to try and rerout cable to her after another tech took it out without clear it with us. The box worked fine for a couple days, but then the picture stuttering started and hasn't stopped since.

 

What's the best way to troubleshoot this? The tech said the box runs off a wireless signal from X1 DVR cable box in another room? or does it run off the cable internet wireless signal?

Actually both dvr and wifi, if there's a poor wireless signal the xi5 will have issues. Have another tech out and either route cable to the room necessary or check the wifi signal in that room.
