X1 cable box disk drive runs ALL the time

X1 cable box disk drive runs ALL the time

I recently upgraded my cable box to the much improved X1 system.

My previous cable box had no disk drive in it, so I am not used to having a disk drive cable box.

I have found that the disk drive runs 24x7 and have no idea how to turn it off when I am

not using it to record a program.

I know I am missing something and have searched the literature that came with the box.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction so I can turn this drive off?

Thanks very much

Turning off the HDD would also disable the TSB ( time shift buffer ) and is not something that was deisgned for the X1 platform.
