X1 Won't Power Up - Comcast is a time waste

I didn't want X1.

I refused Comcast telemarketers over and over and over again.

We moved to a new place and they called me up here.

Finally, after a horribly long and excruciating conversation with an inept customer sales rep, I agreed.

They sent it over yesterday.

Today I switched over.

I get a message. "powering up."

And then it goes black.

I unplug and try again. Same.

Again. Same.

Again. Same.

I call Comcast and deal with <Edited for violating forum guidelines: "Inflammatory"> customer service rep.

She recommends all the things I've already tried.

So now I have to reconnect the old system (more time wasted), drive this <Edited for violating forum guidelines: "Inflammatory"> box to Comcast (more time wasted) for a replacement. Hook that up (more time wasted).

And I suspect that one won't work either. So I'll have to rehook up the old box (more time wasted).

So we'll have to call Comcast and go throught their <Edited for violating forum guidelines: "Inflammatory"> customer service again (more time wasted) and wait for a tech to come over and redo the wires.

Re: X1 Won't Power Up - Comcast is a time waste

X1 is less 'forgiving' than the older legacy system (needs a good signal level and signal to noise ratio). Blaming Comcast may be misdirected. the Tech will be able to find the problems and get your set top box working correctly. If you would like, I can ask a Comcast Official Employee to try to get the earliest possible appointment with an in-house tech.
