Why can't I watch t.v. shows regularly?

Hi!  It seems that I can only manage to watch t.v. shows on my computer about 40% of the time I try.  For example, tonight, I wanted to watch the latest episode of CSI, but when I clicked on the play now button, the screen indicated that the show would start to play in a few moments, but then it just hangs up, and never shows the program.  Why is that?  Is this a problem on your end or mine?

There's a stickie at the top of this forum with help suggestions for online video issues.  Please start with that.
