Why Are HD Channels Not Listed in the Online Guide?

Why Are HD Channels Not Listed in the Online Guide?

It sure would be nice to have ALL of them listed in case I am not at home to program my dvr. My Droid and laptop do come in handy for setting up recordings.

Only problem is that while I have a gazillion HD channels not all of them show up in the online listings. If I wanted to record Investigation Discovery in HD I have to set it up using the DVR, which can be done if I'm at home. If not at home I have to settle for the SD channel.

In fact, even some NON-HD channels are missing from the listings.

This is not good if I there is something on one of those channels I would like to record. One that is missing and is not on the guide at all is Discovery Fitness and Health. Another is Disney Jr, which I record for the 5 year old.

How about giving me a COMPLETE guide?

Re: Why Are HD Channels Not Listed in the Online Guide?

4 months later and still not all HD channels are listed in the online guide.

No ch.389 listed. And 1262 wasn't because the guide stops at ch. 892 Jobs by Monster - XFINITY On Demand

Investigation Discovery HD is also still MIA from the online listings.

Also no CNBC HD online. Another case of having to use SD to record American Greed if I haven't seen the advertised episode.

I had to settle for recording on the SD channel.

I'm sure other HD channels are missing but I am not about to do a comparison.

Disney Jr. (which is available only in SD) is also still missing online. It is listed in the phone app.

My daughter, who still has the secondary Comcast account I set up for her long ago, cannot look at the Disney Jr. listings and schedule a recording on the DVR reserved for the 5 year old to watch when the child spends the night with Nana.

Discovery Fitness and Health is also still not listed online.

The Xfinity TV Remote app is more detailed and contains all the channels. Please do the same for the online guide.

Re: Why Are HD Channels Not Listed in the Online Guide?

The team needs to GET IT FIXED!!!!

Fortunately I know that the wheels of Comcast grind slower than the wheels of justice and that Comcast is not good at timely resolutions.

What is your zip code, service area, and what specific channels are missing from your online TV Listings grid?

Queen-Evie,

This ticket is still open and our team is working with the team that provides us with TV Listings to get this issue resolved.

If it is still incorrect when it is resolved, I will use your list to inform the appropriate teams that these are the correct listings.

Thank you for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience,
Joe

Re: Why Are HD Channels Not Listed in the Online Guide?

It should have been resolved ASAP after I first reported it. There is no reason this should be unresolved 4 plus months later. Having been a Comcast customer for 20 plus years I am NOT surprised that it hasn't been fixed yet.

DVR Manager makes it easy to set DVR recordings from anywhere you have Internet access with a computer.

http://xfinity.comcast.net/learn/tv/remote-dvr/

It is easy IF the channel one wants to record is listed. Maybe an update to the page to say

"DVR Manager makes it easy to set recordings from anywhere you have Internet access with a computer and your local listings includes ALL the channels".

Re: Why Are HD Channels Not Listed in the Online Guide?

In my post with the list of missing channels I stated

227 Cool missing from ON SCREEN GUIDE but is in the online guide

I have just discovered that Cool does not exist on my tv. There is NOTHING on ch. 227. It needs to be removed from the online guide.

What's ironic is channels that should be listed are not and a channel that should not be listed is.

Re: Why Are HD Channels Not Listed in the Online Guide?

I just noticed a mistake in my online guide. This is not correct. Channel 80 does NOT exist in my area. Channels go to 74, then the next one is 101. Style is on ch. 118.
