I spoke with Comcast on 4/23/2012 below was the converstion.
"Thank you for reaching out to us. We currently do not have this feature available, however, you can access ESPN3 via the web for current and previously recorded sports programming. We appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us and have passed forward your request to leadership."
I responded with what is your time frame for this feature?
"At this time we have no time frame"
It's a very interesting response considering a recent Press release:
"Xfinity TV customers will receive broad access to existing authenticated products like WatchESPN, as well as upcoming authenticated products, including WatchDisneyChannel, WatchDisneyXD and WatchDisneyJunior. These services will give Comcast’s Xfinity TV customers more opportunities to access live and video on demand content, both in-home and out-of-home, on their computers, smartphones, tablets and gaming consoles. "
When this deal was announced back in January or February I called and was told beginning of April. Now beginning of May. Hope it is soon. Don't understand why it takes this long after the deal to add it.
630am and still hasn't been updated
Have you tried it now online? It is working for me.http://espn.go.com/watchespn/getaccess
Then click Watch Now in the upper right.
For iPhone and iPad you will need version 1.6 for WatchESPN which was released today.
It may take some time for the new version to go out across all of the Apple servers, but still should be today in all locations.
What about the android version of the app?
We expect to extend access to this app on Android devices in the coming months.
Why did you update the iOS app and not the Android app as seeing most of your customers probably have Android devices at the moment? At least we can access it via the browser I guess.
I can't believe they are blocking all access to this content. I've tried three different browsers on my droid razr and they won't load the content. YET time warner, bright house and verizon can make it work but NOT comcast. It's like comcast signed a deal with apple to develop for droids very slow.
