Silverlight crashing. Uninstalled/reinstalled, still asking for update. Ran update and now get an unknown hard error. Silverlight is awful! I've uninstalled and reinstalled many times. it will work for a while, then will stop working. Please tell me how to permanently fix this!

Re: Silverlight still crashing.

Silverlight crashes during commercial playback and has been doing so consistently for several days in a row, after having been doing so intermittently for a couple of months. I think it must have something to do with the way ads are inserted on xfinity. I watch Netflix, which uses Silverlight, on my computer without any problems. FYI, I cannot install an older version of Silverlight, because I will simply be prompted to install the newest version next time I watch a video on xfinity or Netflix.

Re: Silverlight still crashing.

I'm using Windows 7I've run into the same problem and was able to work around the problemI've found that I'm able to get things working properly by installing the latest version of Firefox, installing the latest version of flash player, and downgrading Silverlight to version 4.1There seem to be problems with using Silverlight version 5 and problems with using IE browsers (which suck for many other reasons).

Comcast customer support is useless (sorry Joe but it's true) ; hopefully you'll find this helpful and they'll wake up.
