Recording a program marked TBD

Recording a program marked TBD

Hi,

I am located in the Livermore area (94550).  My lineup is marked as Comcast Pleasanton Digital.  When trying to record some sporting events, many of them are marked as TBD, even when the game will be on the same day.

One example is tonight.  CSNBA (channel 40) is showing a college basketball game (San Diego at Loyola Marymount).  It shows up as TBD and the webpage does not let me record the show since it is marked as such.  Is there any reason why the page does not let us record items marked as TBD?  It is much worse that  I am unable to record the show when it is marked TBD, than to just let me record it even if the show's metadata is missing.  This greatly reduces the utility of the web page.

I also tried recording the show from the Xfinity app on my iPhone.  The app crashes when trying to record a show marked as TBD.  Come on Comcast.  You guys need to do better than this.

I am looking at future listings and channel 40 and see no TBDs.

Are any other channels or shows showing TBDs? I am scanning through your listings and do not see any.

Re: Recording a program marked TBD

For anyone who has to rely on comcast for TV listings, the State of the Union is alson on ABC and NBC. CBS is showing a repeat of NCIS:LA at 8. The CW is showing When in Rome at 8.

I'll try to post the 8 or so holes in tomorrow night's schedule later or you can visit Zap2It.com like I had to.

Re: Recording a program marked TBD

Lots of TBDs here in 94087 too.  I've noticed that the standard channel listings are better but the ones for the HD equivalents have the TBDs.  I was just looking at KQEDH (ch 709) on Wed, Feb 13, and it shows nothing but TBDs from 4pm to 2am.  But when I looked at it a few minutes earlier it showed only a couple of TBDs during that time span.  Sometimes when you click on the arrows on the time to move to an earlier or later period, and then go back to the original time, the number of TBDs changes.

Nasty, very nasty.

Yes I am logged into my account, have selected the correct area and the filters are off.  In any case, none of that would cause TBDs to show up and the number of TBDs to changes as you move forward and back in the hours displayed.

Re: Recording a program marked TBD

There is no improvement today.  I really encourage you to fix this consistent problem, for scheduling dvr recordings online is a need for most of us and makes Comcast valuable.  I should not need to be in front of my tv to set recordings.  Please address this problem soon. Thank you.

To Comcastjoe: Did you look at the graphic posted by dbvirago? How can you not see all the TBD's?

This keeps happening everywhere and makes the Guide useless. Happening in my area, 02093.

This issue has been posted many, many times.

Can you please post a useful response?

Hi all,

A fix is being released today that will stop the TBDs going forward. However, it will not correct the current TBDs that you already see.

For the current TBDs, we are using your zip code and service area to fix the current ones.

Thank you for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience,

The current days that you can view (2/14-2/25) will not change in this release. 2/26 and on should have no TBDs. However, you may look at 2/26 tomorrow and see some TBDs. As it gets closer to that date, there should be no TBDs. This may be because some networks have not committed to programming yet in that timeslot.

As for the current days you now see, our team is working on the zip codes in this thread right now.

Looking forward to a permanent solution to this recurring problem.

The only TBD I see on the 26th in the evening is CBS at 11:30, which has been David Letterman for about 2  decades or so.

Continuing problem viewing the correct TV Schedule on comcast.net

I'm trying to look at the TV schedule on comcast.net. I select my zip code and service type, but the schedule doesn't show very many channels. Every time a try it, it shows fewer channels or the same channels, but not the complete line up. Any one else having this problem?

PROGRAMING SCHEDULE

Why can I not find out what is on?  The guide on the TV stinks!  It usually only shows the next 2 or 3 hours of scheduling.  So, I go on line to see what's on and guess what, not only does most of the programing show TBD but the programing it does show is wrong.  Check out TNT and see what Law & Order looks like this morning.  For $80+/mo I expect much more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Continuing problem viewing the correct TV Schedule on comcast.net

I get the correct channel lineup, but, increasingly, all I see nowadays is "TBD" for many hours of major channel programming: NBC, CBS, PBS, etc. Much use that is. I enter the correct zip code and select the right service type. ONe thing you might try, look at the text box on the upper left, and verify it says "TV listings for (your zip code)". Then click on "Change location" and verify that your service area is selected: Digital, Standard Cable, etc. IF it is, click Cancel. This may help with the channel lineup, but I doubt it will change the TBD problem. Hey, xfinity/Comcast, is anyone reading these forums? Chip in and offer a solution. If you can be bothered, which I doubt. Usual non-service.

Re: PROGRAMING SCHEDULE

Having the same problem; see my posting under the previous message title. TBD is now filling up almost all the space for many channels. I have double checked that the right zip code and service area is selected, and that no Filters are turned on. I've tried using Firefox and Internet Explorer 9: same issue. The TV Shows listings has become basically worthless. I'm not paying $80/month, thank goodness. What other good tv schedule listing websites are worth using? I may try the Washington Post, which is local to me.......

For 01810, Comcast Andover Digital:

Still lots of TBDs thru 2/25.  Then almost all good from 2/26 on.

Not sure if this is an improvement since I hadn't look that far out before.

Re: TV Shows Listings have many TBD showing

I am so tired of all these TBDs, it makes the online listings completely worthless. Plus, many times when it actually has the show names, it just has generic info instead of info specific to that episode so it looks like it's a repeat, even if it's actually a new episode. It's been like this for weeks now. My zip code is 17403, Comcast York service area, and it shows up for more shows and times than I can (or have the time to) list here.
