Re: toggle between sd and hd channels

ok, so I am new to Comcast/X1, what little TV knowledge I have is from Verizon FIOS TV at someone elses house. So I know it is probably blasphemy to say verizon here opn the comcast forums, but it is only for reference. On Verizon remotes, you can go to any channel, and if there is an HD option (one that fills the entire TV screen) you would just hit the "C" button. I understand the AUTO-HD option perfectly fine, but that being as it is... if I'm watching something on HBO-W on channel 306, and I assume it is in SD since it is not filling my TV and centered in a box, does this mean since I have AUTO-HD turned on there is no HD channel corresponding to HBO-W on channel 306? makes no sense to me that HBO would not have an HD version.

in device settings you can set 'HD' preferred (so if you tune an SD channel the box will tune to the HD version if available. for non HD you can turn zoom on in device settings and it will affect only SD channels.

Re: toggle between sd and hd channels

If you look at your guide you'll see there is one HD HBO channel (Ch300, the east coast feed) and the rest are in standard definition.
