Re: DVR stops recording mid-show

Re: DVR stops recording mid-show

Hi.  I know this is an older thread, but I have been experiencing this problem while recording baseball games.  I exchanged my x1 box a few weeks ago when my old box stopped working.  Since that time, recordings of major league baseball games have stopped recording mid-game.  Sometimes after an hour; sometimes a little longer.  The red dot is still next to the game in "Recordings" and it says "Recording Now" but the recording has stopped.  When you hit "watch" and playback, it goes up to a certain point and just ends.  Did anyone ever find a fix for this?  Is it the box?  Is it possible the "new" box I recently received is the problem?  Thank you for any input.

next time that happens try checking same recording on your cloud DVR (web page or via smart app) and see if the recording failed there too. Did you get an error message? did the status bar show that segment (on DVR) was 'limited' (not completely blue on the progress bar)?

No, I did not get an error message.  This has happened the past two evenings and once about a week ago.  The status bar is red and the red circle indicates the ball game is recording in "Recordings" tab, but it is NOT recording.  It just stops for no reason whatsover.  The older thread had other users with the same problem back in 2015 (but this has been turned into a new thread apparently).  The status bar is not blue; it is red.  However, the red light on the front of the dvr box did go out when this happened.  Thank you for responding.
