RNG 100 won't pair to XR5v4-R remote

Remote won't pair with set top box. Remote is XR5v4-R and box is RNG 100. How to program?

Re: RNG 100 won't pair to XR5v4-R remote

If by "pair" you are taking about using the "RF" mode instead of the "IR" mode, then no, the RNG100 won't pair with that remote as the RNG100 box only supports IR mode.

If you really want to use the RF mode with the RNG100, then you will need to get and plug in an "XR8" Aim Anywhere Adapter into the rear of the box:  http://forums.xfinity.com/t5/X1/XR8-adapters/m-p/2613248

The XR8 is meant to be used with the RNG150N client boxes that are used on the X1 platform, but it should also work with an RNG100.

It won't pair to Legacy equipment, X1 only. The basic functions may work but that's the wrong remote for the equipment
