Play now "video unavailable" using iPad2 and Xfinity mobile App

I can't get Play Now video to download via the mobile APP on iPad.  I see all TV & Movie listings and it appears to start the video, but doesn't actually.  Screen remains black indicating 0 out of 00 mins.  Error msg says something about "video unavailable." This seems to be an Internet connection problem because it occurs only at my health club (where the Internet connection was recently updated). Video works fine on home Internet & also at my office Internet. Please advise!

Try this and let me know the results.

 

On the your iPad, go to the app Settings > Wi-Fi > tap the arrow next to your Wi-Fi network > change the DNS server to 75.75.75.75.

I tried that & it did not work. Any other suggestions?

Try clearing the app history and then try again. If it still does not work, try uninstalling the reinstall the app.

Tried both already and neither worked.  Keep in mind, the APP works fine on my home Internet and office Internet. It seems to be a problem with the health center Internet settings, which was just updated.

maybe they don't want you using all their bandwith watching tv at the gym??

Enter the app and click on More-Settings-Channel Line up-Add location.  Enter your current zip code and add that location.  The guide will load and the app should start working.

Unfortunately that did not work either. Any other suggestions?

The suggestions that were posted were ways that you may be able to get onto this new network. Please ask the location if they have tightened their internet security settings or have knowly changed anything.

Yes, as I said in the beginning, the Health Club recently installed new Internet hardware which I suspect IS the problem, since I am able to stream videos on Xfinity with my iPad on my home network.  It probably is one of their settings, but I don't think they have intentionally increased their security setting because I am able to stream content from other sites including from the XfinityTV PLAYER App.  It would be helpful if you can advise on network settings which I can then share with the Health Club IT guy. Thanks!

All other Internet apps: email, Bloomberg News, ABC video, NBC video, Facebook, CNN all work fine on this Internet.  The problem appears isolated to Xfinity Remote & Xfinity Player apps!
