Page up/down when viewing guide is not jumping as many channels as before

When using the page up or page down buttons when viewing the on-screen guide, it no longer jumps as many channels as before. Makes viewing the guide tedious. Is there a way to program the remote back to what it used to be?

Accepted Solution

Re: Page up/down when viewing guide is not jumping as many channels as before

it's a known issue that will be fixed in an upcoming release.

Working fine here in the Twin Cities.

Have you unplugged and rebooted your X1 box?

Have you replaced the batteries in the remote?

This is happening on all three of my boxes (in eastern Mass.). Came on suddenly. No way its a power cycle/battery issue. So annoying. The guide displays five channels at a time, but paging up/down only moves it three channels.

if that was to me, I didn't do anything but next day was ok. you might try a power un-plug reboot  of the set top box now and see if it fixes it. I look forward to your results if you have time.

Same thing here in Western Mass. Started today.  comcast must have pushed out another STB update without testing it.  This is getting to be an on going issue lately everytime they update something something else is broken AHHHHHHHHH.

Re: Page up/down when viewing guide is not jumping as many channels as before

COMCAST/XFINITY Tech support supervisor just told me it was a design choice recently implemented. They also told me to post here in the forum, because this is where the developers will read suggestions/desires/complaints and respond. OKAY XFINITY, I am posting my complaint that the GUIDE Page Up/Down feature isn't working as expected. The guide displays 5 lines of channel information but only 'jumps' three lines at a time. The Mini-Guide scrolling and page/up feature has a very similar issue with the added bonus of being unpredictable in behavior (sometimes scrolling only one, two, or three lines when using the page up/down) AND displaying partial lines of information. Developers? Let's hear from you and let's see you fix the issue.

This issue began over a week ago and no number of resets or reboots or power cycles has any effect on restoring the function, which is no surprise if the upgrade was designed this way. Maybe you should infor customer service and all of the tech support staff so they can stop wasting customers time with worthless troubleshooting procedures.

Rustyben: it is nice that your functions have returned to normal.
Do you have any advice for the rest of us on how it got that way, or on how to return ours to normal??

Thanks in advance.

my guide 'readibility' is off, and now it scrolls up or down only 3 lines. menu and firmware versions remain the same but the number changes daily from 2,3, or 4

Re: Page up/down when viewing guide is not jumping as many channels as before

i rebooted my modem, and X1 box, both by pulling the DC power plug for 30 seconds.

Afterwards, with the Readability enhancement ON, i only skip two lines.  by that i mean:

1xxxx

2xxxx

3xxxx

4xxxx

If the guide is pointed at 1xxxx, if i do a page dn...it jumps to 3xxxx WITH the enchanced readability on.

With  the font displayed it could jump all the way to the 4xxxx and still be on the screen and visable.

with my readability set to off, it scrolls 3 instead of 5.

Directtv jumps full pages, not just to the bottom line. Can I put an official request to have that be the new normal for Xfinity too?
