Online Video Playback Slows Until it Stops

Hello, this has been happening for about a year now where I will start playing a video online, and it will start to skip and stall, the video skips first, then the sound. After only a few seconds it will stall completely and slow down the entire computer. I know I can stream video on my computer just fine on other sites like youtube, HBOGo, and hulu. I think there must be something wrong with either the xfinity site or the player that is being used. I have searched online and not found any posts from people with this problem. Any advice would be appreciated. My computer specs are listed below

Have you tried a different web browser like Google Chrome?

What specific videos are you trying to watch? Can you please send me the links.

I tried Internet Explorer with the same results, but I do not have Google Chrome.

I have experienced this problem with every video that I have tried to view on the Xfininty site.

The Modern Family video worked fine, but the American Pickers video was choppy even when the ad was playing.
