On-line Guide and programming DVR for future recordings

The on-line guide on my TV will only show the current and the 2 or 3 hours of programming and I cannot get the remote to allow me to set up a one time or series recording for a program scheduled to be broadcast several days from now.  Any ideas?

unplug the box to reset it.   If that does not work call comcast for a box refresh signal.  If neither works you need to get a tech out.

When is comcast/xfinity going to get equipment that you don't have to unplug and wait and plug back in.  That's there signature saying" unplug and plug back in"? Junk equipment  . But great service.

the unplug is like restarting your computer, you ever notice if you leave your computer on to long things start to get flaky and needs a restart.  Same with the cable box.   Even their new one x1 they are rolling out needs the same thing.

Pretty much how vast majority of technological devices work (especially ones with more complex operating systems running on them).  Perhaps in the future when technology overall evolves or changes drastically this might change, but for the time being this is more or less what applies to most devices.
