New box questions

I got some help with my bill and with that the Comcast agent mailed out a new box for us. It won't turn off when the television shuts off and I read where the only way to shut it off was to push the button on the front of the box-but our box has no off button. I am not comfortable leaving it one all the time-it is hot and the blue light is disturbing even if you can dim it-I don't want it left on while we are not home. Everyone says turn it off on the front of the box with the on/off button but ours does not have one. Can anyone help? Is there any way to shut it off while shutting of the televison? If not I may have to go back to my old box and remote. Can anyone provide some assistance?

Re: New box questions

Yes you can go into the menu settings and turn it off from there.

Also you can dim the light within the settings menu.

It is normal for X1 boxes to remain on. The smaller Xi boxes are known to run warm. I have a feeling that if you turn the box off it will remain warm. Cable boxes are still 90% on internally even if you shut them off.

The power is on the top right, not the front.
